(Hey!) No cars go!

Celebrating utter randomness and posting some random pictures of cars, taken at random times and places (well only in Canada). And just because looking at cars can be quite boring I'll spice it up with some random facts. Random! Random! Random!:D

Random shot of a car in Petite-Patrie (few years back we used to briefly live around that Montreal area). On that very day we were in there to visit the local cheese store that happens to be on the picture as well, just look carefully in the left corner of this picture. See? No? Yeah it is quite blurry little dot indeed. Anyways, buying cheese from that store was such a hassle. First of all we only had time to go there on weekends and weekends were usually rather busy for us to begin with. Secondly the stores in weekends are open just a fracture of time, which is very unpleasant and infuriating for an European-shopper like me and this particular store is open for a even smaller fracture of time (till 13:30!!!). So on most Sundays we were late, like 15 minutes late, extremely frustrating 'I'll poo on your doormat' material. But the store itself was superb, full of zillion variations of cheese and imported Italian goods from pasta to coffee plus a selection of meats and ready-made Italian foods. I think that on this very day when this picture was taken we were late as well and instead of delicious Parmesan cheese all we got was this stupid picture of a 'Disco Mobile' hehe.

These pictures of a hippie-van were taken on my last day of school in L'Université du Québec à Montréal. Our teacher had taken us out to celebrate and we had ended up wondering around the area in search for the perfect place to dine at. It was during that frantic search that we came across this funky van. As you might notice there is no number plate in front of the car, you might think it is because the van is not really in use, but it's not so. In Canada the number plates are only displayed at the back of the car and never in the front. I'm used to seeing number plates on both ends of the car so to me it seems that in Canada it must be 50% harder to identify cars, making it a perfect place to commit car-related crimes hehe.

And finally a shot of Toronto Chinatown, but since I took it while driving in the car, the only thing that ended up on the picture was this black truck. At first it might look just like an ordinary car, but then if you look more carefully you may find the thing freaking enormous. Cars are bigger in Canada. The further south you go the bigger they get. To me this particular truck looks absolutely alien. We had one like that on our street in Montreal as well. That one was parked between all the city cars (more than twice smaller than that monster) and looked as if it was taken out from another universe and put on the street just to be laughed at. A statue of a car, a monument of 'waste of space', raping the streets with it's size, demanding attention with it's ridiculous form. Just look at the damn thing, fuck me, it's hilarious!
