Culinary eye

For a while I have been intending to make entries about the food we eat at various restaurants here, but I always forget to take a picture of the dish. Around where we live there are so many different restaurants, most of them just around the corner, from Asian cuisine to Italian and we have been going trough most of them, by the time we move out we wish to have visited all the places around here and we are almost done.

We recently tried out a new restaurant that was opened right around the corner, making me almost puzzle if i could go there in my slippers. The place is called Porto Pollo and it serves Italian and Portuguese dishes. The atmosphere is very nice, nothing too fancy, simple Italian look. While checking the menu we could snack on black olives and fresh italian bread, you could almost fill yourself with just that. After I tried out their pasta dish called Cardinal, it has tomato sauce, cream and Parmigianino cheese. It was so heavenly delicious pasta,so creamy and melts in mouth, it's hard not to over eat. I do not usually like Italian foods but this was very good and the plate was enormous, had to take 2/3 of it in a doggy bag. And they also do take out, but we live so close, no point in that.

My honey tried out their grilled sirlion steak, and the steak was enormous, size of his two hands! But it was good, I tried it out as well, very fresh in flavor not too seasoned and very well cooked, mmmmh.

As lights were low these pictures aren't that good, but still as you can see the plates were huge and didn't cost that much. We did take some coffee after, my Cappuccino was so good, i haven't really had a good warm coffee here, sure Tim Horton's iced coffee with strawberries is delicious but warm coffee's here are way too bitter mostly, but this was so European, it felt like home.
Oh and I just discovered yesterday this new flavor of chewing gum, chocomint splash! It really tastes like mint and chocolate and the taste lasts for hours, so if you're on a diet craving for sweet pleasure, you can take this, tastes like a real deal, but contains just 5 calories!
